Travel within Cambridge

Cambridge is a relatively small city, so walking is often a quick and easy way to get around, but please note that the train station and Fitzwilliam College are on opposite sides of the city.

Local buses
Local buses are run by Stagecoach and Whippet. A journey planner and bus timetables can be found here. Stagecoach and Whippet buses take cash or contactless payments – pay the driver when you get on the bus. Unfortunately, the bus companies have separate tickets. Stagecoach has its own app, and for Whippet you can find information on their own app or track buses and buy tickets on the myTrip app (myTrip is probably easier to use). Live bus information can be seen at some stops or on the My Bus Trip app.

Taxi ranks
There are taxi ranks at the train station, near Parkside coach stop, on Drummer Street and St Andrews Street in the city centre. Many of the local companies have their own mobile phone app to download.

Some local taxi companies:

Panther: call +44 (0)1223 715 715 or via their mobile phone app.

CamCab: call +44 (0)1223 704 704 or via their mobile phone app.
